Steps to hiring professional party entertainment
There’s an array of professional party entertainment companies out there. Mom and pop shops and corporations. Professional party entertainment includes but not limited to princess party entertainment, balloon twisting, face painting, henna tattoos, bounce houses, and clowns. There’s big pool to choose from and sometimes it’s hard to find the right entertainment. Here are some things to look for when hiring professional party entertainment.
1. Choosing your party entertainment
the first and most important thing is to know what type of entertainment you’re looking for. They type of entertainment will be relative to your child’s current interests and age. Theme parties are fun and adorable. If you have a little girl who loves princesses, hiring a princess entertainer will make the party a success. Hiring a real live version of her dream princess and tying it into the theme of the party can make her day/night. You can hire pirates or mascots fitting to the character interest of your child boy or girl.
Also put into consideration your child’s fears when hiring entertainment, just because you think having puppets or a clown at the party will be fun doesn’t mean you’re child thinks so as well. If you are going hire a clown, make sure the style of make up isn’t too scary if you’re going to have younger kids at the party, this applies to kids under the age of 5.
2. Shopping around
You’ve decided on what type of entertainment you want and have started shopping around. Every company of course will try and sell you on their artists, I know I’ll do the same. You want your money’s worth so here are a few questions to ask to make sure you’re getting the safest and best entertainment for your child’s party.
You want to know if they perform background checks on their artists. A birthday party for child involves other children and the safety of your child and his/her friends should be priority. If they perform background checks, that’s a step in the right direction.
Do they follow sanitary regulations? This is most important with face painters and henna artists. These type of artists work close to the skin and sanitation is a important in that line of work. You don’t want germs and bacteria transferring from one child to the other. You also need to make sure that the chemicals and paints they’re using are all safe for the skin.

3. Booking
Once you’ve found the entertainment company of your dreams, ask for quote, if you’re happy with the options you’re being provided go ahead and book your entertainment! Check back in a couple of month and at least a couple of weeks before the event to make sure everything is going as planned and they have an entertainer all set and ready for your party. It takes a bit of work to plan a birthday party or any party event at all.
These tips also apply to corporate events as well as personal parties. I hope this was helpful is getting you started on hiring entertainment for your party.
